Cool tip!

Many French Houses are fitted with shutters, and closing these helps keeps the rooms cooler in summer or warmer in winter. Most French people close their shutters in the afternoons. If you close them before going out in the morning you'll come back to a cooler bedroom at night. Of course they also have the added benefit of reducing sounds such as early morning church bells or evening revellers on festival nights.
