You enter the house from the Place de la République into an entrance hall with its inner lobby and access to the breakfast kitchen and river balcony.

The entrance hall and inner lobby display local scenes and maps depicting the ancient history of the area with its many Cathar castles and ancient monuments.

Rising from the ground floor is a cool & airy marble staircase with galleried landings and ornate wrought iron hand rails. This sweeping staircase rises from the entrance hall to a lovely atrium in the roof with oval skylight high above and ornate cornicing.
